It's been a month since the big move to Hawai'i from NH, and SO much has happened during the past four weeks that it will likely take several posts for me to catch you all up on my whirlwind life. But I have been promising so many of my fabulous friends (and 'ohana) that I will put it all down here. At long last I have reliable internet and new this week I will have a reliable cell phone (egads, is she serious?!). I'm actually finally feeling fairly settled in. I bought a car on Craig's List, always an adventure (94 Nissan Maxima, aptly named Maximus, pictures to follow). The car saga will earn its own spot on this blog I assure you. James and I have purchased most of the home goods that we need minus a kitchen table, chairs, and a bed lift. I found a sweet computer desk and chair for $20.00 while James found us a neat coffee and end table set for $50.00. Both were steals found on Craig's List. LOVE IT. Honolulu is remarkably dependent on this fabulous internet invention, and I am saddened to think how underrated it is back home. We found our apartment and James' truck off the damn thing too. Not to mention all of my temp jobs that are paying my rent. Those I will detail later on.
Right now I am feeling great knowing I have almost come out of the sickness that has been plaguing me for the past week... but I feel terrible as James came home from work today feeling like poo. Or death, as he told me. We had an awesome dinner tonight in our mad attempts to eat like healthy adults, grilled buffalo chicken salads with black beans, corn, cheese, avocado and ranch dressing of course. :-) James liked his so much he immediately passed out on the sofa watching The Office and has been there for nearly 2 hours. As a veteran of the sickness haunting him, I know better than to wake him up. He started work as a Management Trainee at Enterprise Rent-a-Car and has been working like an animal. So all the sleep he can get is a good thing. We found a new supermarket really close to the house when we went to find some more Airborne for him last night in the hopes that it was keeping him from contracting my cold. Here's hoping that his immune system goes ninja overnight. Heeya!
I'm off to brush my teeth and steer a sleepwalking Jamey to his pillow. With a promise I will update again tomorrow... I say Aloha and Goodnight.
